Scholarships

The BTÌìÌÃOffice of Education Abroad does not determine student federal aid or scholarship disbursements. All students anticipating scholarships or federal student aid should meet with a Financial Aid counselor to discuss eligibility financial aid guidelines. Payment deadlines for BTÌìÌÃprograms are independent of any funding release dates. Participants are responsible for making payments by the publicized deadlines, regardless of anticipated funding.

Students must adhere to the BTÌìÌÃTravel Policy as it pertains to BTÌìÌÃEducation Abroad scholarships and other university financial aid.

-participating in a BTÌìÌÃsponsored summer study abroad program
Scholarship administered by the BTÌìÌÃOffice of Education Abroad. Pending full enrollment of a BTÌìÌÃsponsored education abroad program, funding will be released to approved applicants in fall, spring or summer academic terms. Award amounts vary.
Office of Ed. Abroad Undergraduate Study Abroad ScholarshipUndergraduate Sophomore - SeniorMust be:
-BTÌìÌÃundergraduate student
-BTÌìÌÃsophomore, junior, or senior with more than 30 institutional credit hours
-participating in a BTÌìÌÃsponsored summer study abroad program
Scholarship administered by the BTÌìÌÃOffice of Education Abroad. Pending full enrollment of a BTÌìÌÃsponsored education abroad program, funding will be released to approved applicants in fall, spring or summer academic terms. Award amounts vary.

-BTÌìÌÃundergraduate student
-participating in a BTÌìÌÃsponsored semester exchange or direct enroll program
Scholarship administered by the BTÌìÌÃOffice of Education Abroad. Pending full enrollment of a BTÌìÌÃsponsored education abroad program, funding will be released to selected recipients in fall, spring or summer academic terms. Award amounts vary.
The Robert and Carol Adcock Study Abroad Scholarship UndergraduateMust:
-be a BTÌìÌÃundergraduate student
-have studied at least one year of a foreign language
-be participating in BTÌìÌÃsponsored study abroad program which includes foreign language study
This scholarship, administered by the School of Language and Literature, aims to support students who want to further their education through a UCA-supported program abroad.
Nicole Wable Hatfield International Study ScholarshipUndergraduate and Advanced DegreesMust be:
-a degree-seeking BTÌìÌÃstudent
-participating in a summer study abroad or semester exchange program
-minimum 3.0 GPA.
-earning academic credit while abroad
Priority to:
- programs in France
- students with 60+ credits at UCA
Nicole Hatfield understood the transformative value of living and studying in a country different from one’s native culture. The Nicole Wable Hatfield International Study Scholarship enables BTÌìÌÃstudents to benefit from their own experiences while developing their global perspective. Students of French are particularly encouraged to apply.
EDGE FundingUndergraduateMust be:
-BTÌìÌÃundergraduate student
-majoring within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
Various activities and programs, including research projects, service-learning activities, study abroad opportunities, or internships, are eligible for funding through EDGE.
Travel Abroad Grant (TAG)UndergraduateMust be:
-BTÌìÌÃundergraduate student
-be an Honors student in good standing at the Sophomore level or higher, having completed a minimum of at least one Honors course prior to being awarded
-have a cumulative BTÌìÌÃgrade point average of 3.500 or higher
-plan to complete the Honors Interdisciplinary Studies minor or Honors capstone
-have at least one semester of university and Honors coursework remaining upon the completion of the proposed experience
Scholarship administered by the BTÌìÌÃSchedler Honors College. Various activities and programs, including service-learning activities, study abroad opportunities, or internships abroad, are eligible for TAG.
Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)UndergraduateMust be/have:
-a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
-BTÌìÌÃdegree-seeking, undergraduate student
-30+ credit hours
-minimum 3.25 GPA
-a mentor with tenure/tenure track or full-time faculty status
SURF provides undergrads an opportunity to develop a sustained relationship with a faculty member to carry out in-depth research, scholarship or creative projects. SURF awards are prestigious and can give students a competitive edge in the marketplace and when applying to grad schools.
BTÌìÌÃFoundation ScholarshipsUndergraduate and Advanced DegreesMust be:
-currently enrolled and admitted BTÌìÌÃstudent
-additional scholarship criteria vary
The BTÌìÌÃFoundation provides a privately funded scholarship program that offers additional educational opportunities to BTÌìÌÃstudents.
