Veteran news journalist John Quiñones will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway.
Combining a moving life story, an exceptional career, incomparable insights and a powerful presence, Quiñones has emerged as one of the most inspiring speakers in the world today. His moving presentations focus on his odds-defying journey, celebrate the life-changing power of education, champion the Latino American dream and provide thought-provoking insights into human nature and ethical behavior.
A lifetime of ânever taking no for an answerâ took Quiñones from migrant farm work and poverty to more than 30 years at ABC News and the anchor desk at â20/20â and âPrimetime.â Along the way, he broke through barriers, won the highest accolades and became a role model for many. During his 37-year tenure at the network, he has earned seven Emmy Awards for his âPrimetime Live,â âBurning Questionsâ and â20/20â work.
As host and creator of ABCâs âWhat Would You Do?,â Quiñones has become âthe face of doing the right thingâ to millions of fans. He has filmed over 500 different âWhat Would You Do?â scenarios, from spousal abuse, to shortcomings in Americaâs foster care system to discrimination and racism.
At Reynolds Performance Hall, Quiñones will deliver a powerful message of believing in oneâs self, never giving up and always, always doing the right thing.
