UPDATE REGARDING INCIDENT ON CAMPUS

The University of Central Arkansas campus community was briefly asked to shelter in place as university police responded to an incident on campus.

At approximately 3:11 p.m., UCAPD was notified of a possible suspect seen coming onto campus, near the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) building. The person was believed to have been involved in a possible shots fired incident at College Park Apartments, which is across from the BTÌìÌÃcampus. UCAPD issued the shelter-in-place for the campus at approximately 3:27 p.m. UCAPD along with Conway Police Department responded. The individual was located near the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center. The individual was questioned and released by Conway Police.  

Information gathered by UCAPD and Conway Police indicated a suspect fled east away from campus. According to Conway Police, no one was injured. The Conway Police Department is continuing to investigate.

At approximately 3:43 p.m., the campus was given the all clear and resumed normal operations.
