BTTheatre invites high school students to free workshops
CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas will host its second annual Staging Your Future at BTTheatre for high school students on Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Center.
Registration is free to the high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Lunch will be provided to all students. Students will attend two workshops followed by a performance of “Radium Girls” by D.W. Gregory.
“Staging Your Future at BTTheatre was an enormous success last year, and we are excited to welcome even more high school students to our campus this year,” says Melissa Kordsmeier, BTTheatre business manager.
The 2015 workshops will include Audacity/Q-Lab Basics, Building Something Out of Nothing: Building a Set on a Budget, Improv/Devised Theatre, Musical Theatre, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, Stage Projections for “Radium Girls,” and Things to Know About College.
“Many high schools in Arkansas have limited resources to spend on theatre education and productions,” states Kordsmeier. “This is a way BTTheatre provide opportunities for high school students to improve acting and technical skills.”
Registration ends on Friday, October 30. More information and registration are available online at /syf or by contacting Melissa Kordsmeier at mkordsmeier@uca.edu or (501) 450-5092.
