The 2018 University of Central Arkansas Percussion Festival, featuring performances and clinics by prominent percussionists, will take place March 10 at the Snow Fine Arts Center.
The festival will culminate in a grand finale showcase performance, free and open to the public, by renowned composer and percussionist Michael Burritt, professor of Percussion at the Eastman School of Music and one of the world鈥檚 leading percussion soloists who has performed on four continents and in nearly 40 states. Burritt鈥檚 performance at 5 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall will also feature the BT天堂Percussion Ensemble.
The festival, which will begin at noon, is free and open to the public. Hosts include the BT天堂Department of Music, BT天堂Professor of Percussion Dr. Blake Tyson and the BT天堂Percussion Ensemble.
Besides Burritt, other presenters will include Megan Arns, professor of Percussion at the University of Missouri, and Jeff Ausdemore, percussion coordinator at Colleyville (Texas) Heritage High School. Tyson will also deliver a clinic.
