The BTÌìÌÃArchives will display all the materials held in the Block/Henderson Collection from Oct. 16-27.
This collection was created to preserve the many letters and cards of condolence, and banners of condolence that were sent to the BTÌìÌÃCommunity after the fatal shootings of two BTÌìÌÃstudents, Chavares Block, 19, and Ryan Henderson, 18, on Oct. 26, 2008.
Visitors to the BTÌìÌÃArchives will be able to read the letters written to BTÌìÌÃstudents and see the two large banners and the touching comments made by those at Hendrix College and Northern Illinois University.
The BTÌìÌÃArchives is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Hendrix College created a large banner, approximately four feet wide and twelve feet long, signed by about 500 students, faculty and staff. Northern Illinois University also created a condolence banner and students drove the banner from DeKalb, Illinois to Conway, a distance of over 620 miles and presented the banner to BTÌìÌÃofficials at the halftime of a football game at UCA.
All of these items will be on display in the BTÌìÌÃArchives and the public is invited.
