The University of Central Arkansas will celebrate Confucius Institute Day Worldwide with a traditional Chinese music show in Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The show is sponsored by BTÌìÌÃConfucius Institute and is free to the public.
The traditional Chinese music orchestra from China’s Nanjing UniversityÌýwill give the performance. The show features a variety of traditional Chinese music performed on different music instruments such asÌýer –hu, pi-pa, and Chinese flute. The orchestra has won many awards and toured many countries. American folk music will also be performed on Chinese music instruments.
The BTÌìÌÃConfucius Institute for Arkansas was established in 2007 with East China Normal University (ECNU), one of the prestigious universities in China as its partner university. It is the 24th Confucius Institute created within the United States and one of 490Ìýworldwide. It is the only such institute in Arkansas and one of the very few located in the South.
