The University of Central Arkansas will celebrate Confucius Institute Day Worldwide with a traditional Chinese music show in Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The show is sponsored by BT天堂Confucius Institute and is free to the public.
The traditional Chinese music orchestra from China鈥檚 Nanjing University听will give the performance. The show features a variety of traditional Chinese music performed on different music instruments such as听er 鈥揾u, pi-pa, and Chinese flute. The orchestra has won many awards and toured many countries. American folk music will also be performed on Chinese music instruments.
The BT天堂Confucius Institute for Arkansas was established in 2007 with East China Normal University (ECNU), one of the prestigious universities in China as its partner university. It is the 24th Confucius Institute created within the United States and one of 490听worldwide. It is the only such institute in Arkansas and one of the very few located in the South.
