Performance set for Oct. 23 offers the perfect ladiesâ night out
The University of Central Arkansas Public Appearances will present âCandace Bushnell â True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City,â Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Performance Hall.
Bushnell is famously the author of âSex and the City,â published in 1996, the basis for the TV phenomenon âSex and the City,â spawning six-seasons on HBO, two movies and the re-boot series âAnd Just Like That,â currently in its third season. An acclaimed novelist, Bushnell is the international best-selling author of âFour Blondes,â âTrading Up,â âLipstick Jungle,â âOne Fifth Avenueâ and âThe Carrie Diaries.â âLipstick Jungleâ and âThe Carrie Diariesâ each became network TV series (NBC and The CW) for two seasons.
She is also famously known as the âreal life Carrie Bradshawâ or the O.G. Carrie Bradshaw. Bushnell created the character as her alter-ego while writing âSex and the Cityâ because she did not want her parents to know that she had just been to a sex club. She often appears on TV, starting back in 1996, when she had her own reality show, âSex, Lies and Video Clipsâ on VH1, where â sure enough â Bushnell and a co-host were required to go to sex clubs. She has appeared on numerous chat shows, including âOprahâ and âCharlie Rose,â and is currently scheduled to tour âTrue Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the Cityâ in Europe and the U.S. throughout 2025.
Bushnell takes the audience on a whirlwind tour of New York city, from Studio 54 to the Lipstick Jungle and beyond, sharing her remarkable stories of fashion, literature and sex while pouring cosmos in Manolos. The perfect ladiesâ night out!
BTĚěĚĂPublic Appearances has continued to grow each year and now offers five unique series: Broadway, POPS, Night Out, An Evening With, and the Windgate Collection. Reynolds Performance Hall has also welcomed over 70,000 pre-K-12th grade students from across the state of Arkansas to experience live performing arts through the Main Stage Education Series. This series educates while entertaining and provides arts accessibility to all students.
Tickets range from $23 to $46 for adults and $11.50 for students. Prices for tickets are all in. The cost of the ticket is visible upfront, including fees before taxes.
