Partnership program to waive tuition for Arkansas National Guardsmen

University of Central Arkansas President Lu Hardin and Maj. Gen. Don Morrow, the Adjutant General of the Military Department of Arkansas, will hold a signing ceremony at 11:30 a.m., July 15, in the Fireplace Room of McCastlain Hall. The public is invited to attend. This ceremony may of particular interest to military veterans.

The ceremony will establish a Memorandum of Understanding between BTÌìÌÃand the Arkansas Army National Guard. Approved by the BTÌìÌÃBoard of Trustees in May, the understanding provides for BTÌìÌÃto waive 25 percent of tuition and fees for eligible members of the Arkansas Army National Guard. This waiver will be matched with a 75 percent tuition assistance provided by the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Former State Senator and newly named honorary Doctor of Public Service Stanley Russ will also attend.

Maj. Gen. Morrow will arrive on the BTÌìÌÃcampus via a Black Hawk helicopter. His helicopter will land at the Farris Softball Field just before 11:30 a.m. The Black Hawk will be available for public viewing while at the Farris complex.
