The University of Central Arkansasâs Reynolds Performance Hall is set to present the Broadway musical âKinky Bootsâ to a sold-out crowd on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
The smash-hit musical brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein and Grammy- and Tony-winning pop legend Cyndi Lauper. âKinky Bootsâ Â is a high-heeled celebration of unexpected friendships and the ability to work together to make a difference. Inspired by true events, âKinky Bootsâ is an uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his familyâs struggling shoe factory and looking for a fresh idea. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos. Together they discover that it takes a good friend to make a great pair.
The Broadway play, which is based on a 2005 British film, is the winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography.
