Improv Comedy with Colin Mochrie, Brad Sherwood April 9

BTÌìÌÃPublic Appearances’ “Night-Out Series” will continue with “An Evening with Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood” on Saturday, April 9, with the two stars of the Emmy-nominated series, ABC’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” appearing at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. on the University of Central Arkansas campus.

Mochrie and Sherwood lead a “made up” show by taking contributions from the audience, creating hilarious and original scenes. The show is completely interactive, with contributions being everything from yelling out suggestions, to writing scenes on paper for the two improv performers. Audience members are called on stage to “add an extra element of the unexpected,” according to

“One of the things we try to do is have something that appeals to our audience, which is older, but will also be fun for students,”  said Jerry Biebesheimer, director of BTÌìÌÃPublic Appearances. “Brad and Colin are masters at improv, but if you’re older, then you remember ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway,’ so it has appeal across the board.”

Biebesheimer said he had to order golf pencils and pads for the show, saying Mochrie and Sherwood would have the audience write down ideas for them to play out later, making the show completely unscripted.

“I think it’s going to be absolutely great fun,”  Biebesheimer said. “There’s no scripting. The show will depend on what we create.”
