CONWAY â The University of Central Arkansasâs Baum Gallery will host three exhibitions through Feb. 22.
The shows are Tripletta: A Show of Miniature Works by 46 Artists; the photography of Magdalena SolĂ© and the sculptural works of BTÌìÌĂart professor Holly Laws.
Solé will hold a public lecture Feb. 7 at 1:40 p.m. in McCastlain Hall 143.

A reception introducing the three shows will be held in the Baum Gallery on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 4-7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Tripletta will feature 46 artists from the Midwest and Southeast, curated by artist Paige Wideman. Each artist contributed three works measuring 3.5 by 2.5 inches to the exhibit.
Brian Young, interim director of the Baum Gallery, said that although there was no theme to the exhibition, the works by each artist seem to be interrelated.
âIâm looking forward to see the way each artist is taking the challenge of the small dimensions of the works,â Young said. âWhat can you do with 3.5 by 2.5 inches?â

According to SolĂ©âs website, her Mississippi Delta series focuses on rural life in the Delta region of the South that follows the Mississippi River from Memphis to Vicksburg, Miss.
Young said viewers would get the chance to see what an outsider captures from the South.
âIf youâre from the Delta, you have a preconceived view of it,â Young said. âBut for someone from New York or other parts of the country or Magdalena SolĂ©, being from Spain, what do they get out of the Delta when seeing it for the first time?â
Laws, an associate professor in UCAâs Department of Art, will show her latest installation, Bellwether. Specializing in sculpture, Laws instructs two 3-D design courses and a Contemporary Media in 3-D course at UCA. Young said Laws would round out the two-dimensional Tripletta and SolĂ© shows with her three-dimensional sculptural element.

The Baum Gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry to the exhibitions and the gallery is free and open to the public.
