Next Steps

A huge congratulations on your admission to the University of Central Arkansas. We are thrilled to have you join our vibrant international community and are here to make your transition as smooth as possible. Now that you’re officially admitted, We’ve put together a checklist of your next essential steps for you to review below.

New international students are subject to the SEVIS I-901 fee. Once you receive your I-20, visit the SEVIS I-901 fee payment website to make this payment. The process can seem complicated, so please use our helpful step-by-step guide on ourÌýVisa Application webpage.
myBTÌìÌÃis your direct connection to everything at UCA. You will use this portal to apply for housing, pay your university bill, register for classes, and communicate with your professors. Tip: Make sure to write down your new password once you change it!ÌýÌý
New incoming international students are REQUIRED to attend our orientation program, Global Welcome,Ìýprior to the start of their first semester. Learn more about our new student orientation program on ourÌýGlobal WelcomeÌýwebpage.
All new incoming international students are federally mandated to physically check-in with our office by the program start date listed on their I-20 to be in good standing with their F-1 visa requirements. All incoming freshmen are required to live on campus. The housing application can be accessed through the myHousing portion of your myBTÌìÌÃaccount. Apply as early as possible for maximum consideration of your residence hall preference and roommate selection! Visit UCA’sÌýHow Do I Apply for HousingÌýwebpage to learn more about this process.

Meal plans allow you to pay for meals around BTÌìÌÃusing your Bear Card. There are many meal plans to choose from, so make sure to look at all your options. Visit UCA’sÌýMeal Plan OptionsÌýwebpage to learn more.

Submit your finalized arrival details and confirm your attendance to the new semester by submitting your form by the priority deadline. You’ll be able to request a host family (early arrivals), airport transportation (Check-In Day arrivals) or request a late arrival for the new semester to be approved by CGLE. Two MMR shots are needed. If you do not have these, you will receive your necessary shots during Global Welcome orientation once you arrive on campus. Visit ourÌýImmunizations and Health CareÌýwebpage for more information.
All international students are automatically enrolled in LewerMark Student Insurance upon arriving at UCA. Review our LewerMark Student InsuranceÌýwebpage for plan details.

Students also have the option of requesting a waiver to use an alternate health insurance policy. Check out ourÌýAlternative Insurance RequirementsÌýwebpage to see if you qualify.

Requesting to Withdraw/Defer Your Application

Newly admitted international students who wish to defer their admissions or withdraw their application for the upcoming semester will need to complete the form. Submitting this form ensures your student record is updated accurately and allows our admissions team to assist you with the next steps for your academic journey.
