Moviemaker Magazine has named UCA’s Film Program in the U.S. and Canada. Noting the impressive films by its students and faculty, top notch equipment and facilities, its track record of visiting artists and its affordable and competitive tuition, the magazine has included UCA’s film program with much larger and well known programs including those at AFI, USC, and NYU.

According to UCAFilm Coordinator Professor Bruce Hutchinson, “Being included on Moviemaker Magazine’s Top 30 List of Film Schools in the United States and Canada is a major honor, placing BT天堂in the same company as well known film schools like the American Film Institute, USC, UCLA, NYU, and Columbia. Our inclusion as a smaller state school attests to our focus on developing the voice and vision of our students, the dedication of our students to commit an incredible amount of time and effort to becoming practicing filmmakers, and a faculty that cares deeply for the students while maintaining active creative and scholarly careers. Additionally, BT天堂Film has accomplished this with one of the lowest tuition rates of any school on the list.”

The current issue and website of Moviemaker Magazine also features Professor Hutchinson discussing the impact of AI on the future of film school education, who notes that whatever 聽directions AI may take the film industry, BT天堂remains committed to developing the unique voice and vision of each of its students.

Thanks for looking at the BT天堂Film program. We鈥檙e very proud of our program at UCA, and our students know it. Our facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to students with the desire and passion to make films.

Our undergraduate program is designed around a core set of courses that teach visual storytelling, using video and audio to draw audiences into the worlds our students create.聽 Students work to craft original, well-structured stories, with compelling characters and conflicts.

Our graduate program centers on writing and directing and helping students to be creators and storytellers while still emphasizing technical ability and knowledge of film history and theory.

Overall, the Film Program is the only one like it in the state of Arkansas. The program strongly emphasizes narrative visual storytelling and students learn the technical aspects of digital production, including computer based pre-production and pre-visualization, digital cinematography, and computer based editing, effects, and sound design.

Beyond the core production courses, we offer plenty of electives that allow you to follow your interests, including cinematography, editing, audio, lighting, and other technical topics. Our graduates leave the program knowing the ins and outs of filmmaking, ready to pursue work in the motion picture industry.
