✓ Service hour requirements for the Spring 2026 semester completed
✓ 2024 Cohort: Have a 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA or higher with a minimum of 30 earned credit hours at UCA
✓ 2025 Cohort: Have a 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA or higher with a minimum of 27 earned credit hours at UCA

Renewal Requirements

This is an overview of the requirements. The full renewal requirements are available in the BTÌìÌÃCommitment Policy.

Ongoing

  • Enroll in a minimum of 15 credit hours as of 4:30 pm on the 8th class day each fall and spring semester
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA by the end of each fall and spring term.
  • Complete 10 required service hours for each semester by the deadline (refer to the Academic Calendar).

Annually

  • Submit a FAFSA by June 1.

Credit Hour Requirements

  • Year 1 and after (Fall to Spring): Earn at least 11 BTÌìÌÃcredit hours.
  • Year 1 (Spring to Fall): Earn at least 27 BTÌìÌÃcredit hours.
  • Year 2 and after (Spring to Fall): Earn at least 30 BTÌìÌÃcredit hours.

Summer Term

  • If GPA or credit hour requirements are not met by the end of the spring term, students may enroll in BTÌìÌÃsummer coursework; BTÌìÌÃsummer term credit hours and GPA will be considered in the renewal process.
  • Students who do not meet renewal requirements at the end of the spring semester and have qualifying mitigating circumstances may submit an exception request if they have attempted hours in one of the following terms: May Intersession, 13-week Summer Session, 10-week Summer Session, 8-week Summer Session, Summer I, or Summer II.

Additional Notes

  • All remediation requirements must be completed before renewal to Year 2.
  • Any incomplete grades must be resolved according to the Incomplete Grade Policy.

Exceptions

  • Students not meeting renewal requirements may submit an exception request, if they have mitigating circumstances.
  • Refer to the Undergraduate Bulletin for more information on attempted hours.
