The BT天堂Public Art Committee commissioned the Collections Management Policy to facilitate responsible care, storage and exhibition of art works in the BT天堂Art Collection.聽 The policy was recently evaluated through the national Museum Assessment Program (MAP) and administrated through the American Association of Museums in Washington, D.C.聽 The MAP grant was secured by the Friends of the Baum Gallery, BT天堂Foundation, Inc.聽 It provided resources for a peer reviewer to evaluate UCA’s policy and the university art collection, meet with stakeholders, and make recommendations for next steps for implementation of the BT天堂Collections Management Policy.
The BT天堂Public Art Committee thanks the initial MAP Task Force: BT天堂faculty Dr. Gayle Seymour, Barbara Satterfield and Dr. Deborah Kuster; BT天堂Foundation, Inc., director Shelley Mehl; and community representatives Kay Hinkle, Pat Proctor, Dianna Winters, and Neil Vannoy.聽 Their dedicated time and attention to the required self-study, the authorship of the policy, and the peer review process, was essential to defining goals and objectives for stewardship of BT天堂art works.
The committee affirms the ongoing work of MAP Implementation Task Force: BT天堂faculty Seymour and Satterfield, BT天堂staff members Joyce Taylor, Project Coordinator for the university CAD/CAFN/LAN and Intranet capabilities and Russ Hancock, Director of Publications and Creative Media, BT天堂Foundation, Inc.: and Kay HInkle, past-president of the BT天堂Board of Trustees. The Task Force has defined the required three-year plan and identified action steps for stewardship of The BT天堂Art Collection and visual enhancement of art in public spaces.
