Dr. Lowe and Team receive award for Go baby Go!

Chad Lairamore, Sandra Kemper, Leah Lowe, and Lynn Holloway

Drs. Leah Lowe (PT), Lynn Holloway (OT), and Sandra Kemper (CSD) received the Inter professional Education (IPE) Excellence and Innovation Award for their work with UCA’s Go Baby Go Program.   Dr. Chad Lairamore, Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education and Community Engagement presented the award.

UCA’s Go Baby Go is a student-led, community-based initiative that designs and provides modified ride‑on cars for children with limited mobility, combining occupational, physical, and speech‑language therapy expertise with local partners.

The Go Baby Go program allows students and faculty to work together with children with mobility needs. These different programs (OT, PT, speech) work together to create adaptive vehicles for these individuals for a fun day of racing! This program has been an outstanding example of how interprofessional teams and education should function! It allows students to take initiative and work with each other to achieve a collective goal of making a difference in the lives of those in our community.
