Dr. Lucius Seger is a recently graduated PhD history candidate from Texas Christian University who joined the faculty at the University of Central Arkansas in 2026
His Dissertation, 鈥淟ynching and the Law: An Analysis of Mob Violence in Texas, 1874-1919,鈥� explored the contentious political scene in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Texas, with a specific focus on analyzing the connection between racial violence and the passage of an anti-lynching law in 1897. Currently, Dr. Seger is working on turning this project into a book manuscript.
Seger鈥檚 course offerings reflect his diverse scholarly knowledge and focus on US history, with a particular emphasis on connecting political history to contemporary social and cultural trends. Dr. Seger is also an expert in Mexican history, where he focuses on exploring the diverse political, economic, and social history of the modern Mexican nation-state.
When Dr. Seger is not in his office grading papers, he enjoys throwing strikes at the nearest bowling center, playing retro video games, and hiking in a vast array of state and national parks.
