ÌýMSE in Literacy w/ Dyslexia Endorsement

For graduation, you are required to submit score reports for the following exams. It is suggested you take them at the beginning of your final semester.

• The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) now oversees the administration of the KPEERI Exam.ÌýDue to the high volume of inquiries, response times may be slightly delayed.ÌýApplication verification typically takes 7–14 days from the date of initial submission. Once your application has been received and verified, Meazure Learning will contact you directly to schedule your KPEERI Exam. You can take this exam online or in person. Your score report will be generated immediately. After you take the exam, please email Dr. Thompson a copy of your score report at athompson@uca.edu.

• Reading SpecialistÌýPraxis ExamÌý—ÌýGo toÌýÌýfor information about the Praxis 5302: Reading Specialist exam.
  • You must send your scores directly to BTÌìÌÃby following the directions availableÌýHERE.
  • Also, email Dr. Thompson a copy of your score report atÌýathompson@uca.edu.
  • Score reports can take 6+ weeks so plan accordingly to have your report to Dr. Thompson prior to graduation.
• Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT)Ìý—ÌýIf you will be adding the dyslexia endorsement to an Arkansas teaching license, you will also need to pass a PLT exam. Go toÌýÌýand expand the Instructional Support Personnel section.ÌýThe dyslexia endorsement information lists the options for the PLT. Choose any one (1) of these options: Praxis 5621, Praxis 5622, Praxis 5623, OR Praxis 5624.

• Foundations of Reading (890) –ÌýNeeded ONLY for those who have not completed a pathway.

    • EPP completers only

    • Failed the 190 or 890 at least once

  • Free After Three:

    • Limited time special: any 890 test taker who fails the 890 from now until Dec 31, 2025, is eligible for a free retake.

    • Free After Three normal policy: any 890 test taker that has failed the 890 at least three times is eligible for free retakes on the fourth and subsequent attempts.
