Following the guidelines of APA, the program faculty makes systematic, coherent, and longterm efforts to attract and retain students and faculty from differing ethnic, racial, and personal backgrounds into the program. The typical doctoral student should be open-minded and eager to learn as much as possible about working with individual students, classrooms, schools, service agencies, families, and communities. The student needs to be a child advocate who is well-grounded in the theoretical and practical aspects of school psychology.
