The teachers and the administrators at BTwere great, and they strived to pull the best out of each student. If you were having a problem, they were there to help you. They tried to pull the best of me and they did. I tried to always strive to be the best that I could possibly be. All of your hard work pays off when you get to walk across the stage and get that diploma. That’s a big sense of accomplishment.

My Greek affiliation influenced my life by showing me teamwork and perseverance will always be the key to achieving what you want in life. You will always have obstacles that you have to go through, like the poem “See it Through” by Edgar Albert Guest. I took the lessons from my fraternity and BTwith me to my professional life as a firefighter. When a building is on fire, everybody’s running out, and you’re running into the building. You have got to be at your best and rely on your team because your life could depend on it. Being an Omega taught me integrity and compassion. Whether its work related or day-to-day life, that commitment to being
a better man and serving others has stayed with me and is a pivotal part of my life.

I am currently in our graduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Pi Omicron Chapter in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a chapter of professional men of all backgrounds and professions. I actively participate in Omega charities that we do every year.

My Greek experience was AWESOME!

“I want to be remembered for what I gave and not what I took. I believe all people have value. I think we should all listen to understand first, then to be understood.

BTprovided me the opportunity to find who I am. I entered as a naïve freshman and left as a confident college graduate. I used my undergraduate degree in mathematics to become an educator where I was able to discover my true life passion – to help others by equipping them with the skills necessary for success.

I didn’t seek out a fraternity; it found me. And I’m glad that it did. For the past 12 years, I have served as an advisor and alumni representative for my undergraduate chapter. My connection to the chapter keeps me energized and motivated as I see the accomplishments of this group of men.”

My Greek experience was unique.

“I am passionate about Conway, which to me means Community Building – setting and keeping a vision for the city for now and for the future and keeping it ever in front of us. I am passionate about building and piecing together the parts of that vision. I am passionate about putting together the relationships to achieve collectively that vision for a better community through achievable steps.

In many senses, I am what UCA, its staff, its faculty, and its students helped me become. A broad-minded inquisitiveness combined with small town sensibilities and a student’s hope for some better world is, in my life, attributable to my Alma Mater. Because of my education, the hopes of my younger self gets to live vicariously through my older self.”

My Greek experience was the petri dish and trail run for my life and career.
